What you'll do

As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you'll be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of heavy equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. Your duties will include:

  • Perform routine maintenance and scheduled servicing of heavy equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
  • Conduct inspections to identify equipment malfunctions or safety concerns.
  • Troubleshoot breakdowns and provide immediate solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, services, and parts used.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies.
  • Collaborate with operators and supervisors to identify recurring equipment issues.

What are we looking for?

  • Vocational or technical diploma in Heavy Equipment Mechanics, Automotive Technology, Diesel Mechanics, Electrical Systems, or Hydraulics (preferred).
  • Certifications in Hydraulic Systems, Electrical Systems, or Heavy Equipment Maintenance (advantageous).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in heavy equipment maintenance, with a focus on hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Experience working with excavators, loaders, forklifts, dump trucks, backhoes, and other construction or industrial machinery.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and repair hydraulic pumps, cylinders, valves, electrical wiring, sensors, and control systems.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools, schematics, and troubleshooting procedures.
