Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Modeler to design, develop, and optimize relational database environments that support mission-critical business applications. The ideal candidate will possess advanced expertise in PostgreSQL and strong data modeling capabilities to ensure database performance, scalability, and architectural integrity.

Key ResponsibilitiesData Modeling

  • Design and implement conceptual, logical, and physical data models for enterprise-level systems.
  • Ensure alignment with data architecture principles, standards, and naming conventions.
  • Develop comprehensive documentation for data relationships, structures, and metadata.

Database Design & Performance Optimization

  • Build and maintain PostgreSQL schemas, tables, views, and indexes.
  • Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing strategies, and storage architecture enhancements.
  • Apply normalization and denormalization techniques based on business and performance requirements.

Collaboration & Integration

  • Partner with application developers, data engineers, and ETL teams to ensure accurate implementation of data models.
  • Participate in data integration and migration initiatives while maintaining data integrity and consistency.

Governance & Documentation

  • Develop and maintain data dictionaries and metadata repositories.
  • Establish and enforce best practices for database design, version control, and change management.

Support & Continuous Improvement

  • Review and analyze existing database structures, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Support testing, deployment, production monitoring, and performance tuning activities.

QualificationsEducation & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in data modeling and relational database design.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with PostgreSQL (schema design, indexing, query optimization).

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with data modeling tools (e.g., ERwin, ER/Studio, pgModeler).
  • Experience with data migration and ETL tools such as Azure Data Factory (ADF).
  • Strong foundation in normalization, relational theory, and data integrity principles.
  • Experience working with large-scale, complex datasets and enterprise integrations.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Deliverables / Expected Outputs

  • Conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  • PostgreSQL database schema scripts and technical documentation.
  • Comprehensive data dictionary and metadata repository.
  • Performance optimization reports and tuning recommendations.
  • Continuous improvement recommendations for database architecture.

Job Type: Fixed term

Contract length: 12 months

Pay: Php130, Php150,000.00 per month
