Job Purpose

The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the company's accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations. This role requires strong technical expertise, analytical skills, and leadership abilities to oversee junior accounting staff and support strategic financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) or applicable accounting standards.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost control and revenue improvement.

General Accounting & Compliance

  • Oversee general ledger maintenance, journal entries, reconciliations, and closing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with BIR regulations, tax laws, and other statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory agencies during audits and examinations.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Assist in developing annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
  • Monitor budget performance and recommend corrective actions as needed.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Supervise and mentor junior accountants, providing guidance and training.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to support operational and strategic initiatives.

Process Improvement

  • Recommend and implement improvements to accounting processes, controls, and systems to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) – required.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or senior role.
  • Strong knowledge of PFRS, BIR rules, and other relevant regulations.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Xero) and MS Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
