The Safety Manager ensures the safety of students, instructors, and staff at an aviation school by developing, implementing, and overseeing safety policies that comply with CAAP regulations and ICAO standards. This includes managing flight safety, emergency response, risk assessments, accident investigations, and ensuring the school's compliance with all aviation safety protocols.

  • Develop and enforce safety policies aligned with CAAP regulations and ICAO standards.
  • Ensure compliance with FAR 141 and CAAP MC for flight schools.
  • Oversee safety during flight training, including pre-flight briefings, emergency procedures, and post-flight reviews.
  • Ensure safe ground operations, including aircraft handling, fueling, and maintenance.
  • Lead the Emergency Response Plan (ERP), conducting regular drills (fire, evacuation, first aid).
  • Ensure all students and staff are trained in emergency procedures.
  • Investigate aviation incidents and accidents, reporting findings to CAAP.
  • Implement corrective actions based on incident investigations.
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs for students and staff, covering flight safety, PPE, and emergency protocols.
  • Ensure refresher training for instructors on aviation safety regulations.
  • Monitor aircraft inspections, ensuring compliance with CAAP airworthiness standards.
  • Oversee pre-flight checks and routine maintenance to ensure safety.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety audits, incident reports, and training logs.
  • Submit regular safety performance reports to school management and regulatory bodies.
