The Opportunity.

The
Storage & Backup Administrator
is responsible for
enterprise-level storage infrastructure and backup operations
, ensuring availability, integrity, and recoverability of business-critical data. The role involves daily allocation, performance monitoring, incident resolution, vendor management, and execution of disaster recovery procedures.

The Role.

  • Administer
    high-end storage systems
    (Dell EMC, IBM DS Series, Hitachi VSP).
  • Manage
    storage allocations, provisioning, snapshots, replication (local/remote), and BCV/clone operations
    .
  • Support and administer
    backup technologies
    : Commvault, IBM TSM, Symantec NetBackup, Backup Exec.
  • Monitor storage performance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with vendors.
  • Maintain
    SAN infrastructure
    (IBM SAN Switches, Cisco Fabric Manager/CLI).
  • Perform
    data recovery operations
    , ensuring compliance with RPO/RTO.
  • Document procedures, maintain inventory, and update DR runbooks.
  • Execute
    root cause analysis (RCA)
    and preventive measures for recurring issues.
  • Ensure all changes follow
    strict change control and ITIL processes
    .
  • Support automation and scripting for routine storage/backup tasks.

The Expertise.

  • 5+ years' experience in
    enterprise storage and backup administration
    .
  • Proven knowledge of
    SAN/NAS, storage groups, LUN provisioning, and replication technologies
    .
  • Strong fundamentals in
    backup and restore operations
    across multiple platforms.
  • Familiarity with
    disaster recovery simulation and documentation
    .
  • Scripting experience (Shell, Perl, Python) is an advantage.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/IT or equivalent.

  • Work Set-Up: Onsite, Full-Time
  • Schedule: 24/7 operations – rotational shifts (including weekends)
