Responsible for: 



Maintaining and supporting the businesses Linux/Unix and storage systems

Extent of Authority:   

The authority to install, modify and maintain all Linux/Unix operating system components including storage and backup systems, subject to complying with the corporate change management procedures 

Main Activities: 

  • Acknowledge and process assigned incidents, service requests and Change Controls raised via the Service Desk or project requirements in a timely and professional manner and in accordance with defined KPIs
  • Ensure all Linux hardware/software applications are operating efficiently and in accordance with instructions
  • Administer and maintain the Linux, backup and storage environments in accordance with written policy and procedure
  • Work effectively with co-workers in developing, maintaining and supporting IT solutions, processes and procedures
  • Complying will all corporate policies and procedures.
  • Communicating with both internal and external clients when, and where, appropriate.
  • Partaking in TaPS meetings, sharing technological information with colleagues.
  • Ensure you do not discriminate against, harass or bully co-workers, prospective co-workers, FUJIFILM Data Management Solutions Pty Limited (FUJIFILM DMS) sub-contractors, visitors, clients or customers and ensure you treat people with fairness and respect in the performance of your duties.
  • Ensure all FUJIFILM DMS policies, including Work Health and Safety, Business Management System and Security policies and procedures are complied with.
  • Ensure that you, and employees within your area of responsibility (as applicable), complete all training modules (policy, compliance or miscellaneous) within required timeframes 
  • Ensure that you, and employees within your area of responsibility, take care at all times to work in a safe manner and report workplace hazards.


Key Skills and Personality Traits: 



Key Skills:

  • Well-developed skills in Linux (RedHat or Oracle Linux version 7 & 8) operating systems, Ansible Automation and Red Hat Satellite
  • Knowledge in storage systems of NetApp, or other tier 1 technologies
  • Well-developed skills is enterprise backup technologies such as IBM Spectrum Protect/TSM, Commvault or other tier 1 technologies
  • Well-developed skills in technical troubleshooting and problem analysis
  • General skills in networking, security concepts, and desktop computers

Personality Traits:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise work, work to agreed timeframes and manage multiple concurrent tasks


Qualifications and Typical Experience: 

  • Tertiary qualifications in a computing discipline.
  • 5 years' experience in similar roles
  • Linux certification


Special Circumstances:

  • Required to participate in out-of-hours support roster
  • Occasional travel to other sites within FBDMS
  • Employment is dependent on a national police criminal history check that is acceptable to FUJIFILM DMS.
  • Additional security clearances may be required as requested by FUJIFILM DMS or its clients.
  • Required to work reasonable additional hours as may be necessary to meet the requirements of the position.
  • Maintain FUJIFILM DMS and client confidentiality.
  • Some travel may be required to various FUJIFILM DMS sites, interstate or overseas to meet requirements of the role.
  • May be needed to be on-call from time to time to meet requirements of the role. 
  • Required to participate in workplace fit-for-work initiatives (including stretching programs).
