Job Summary:

We are looking for an honest, efficient, and customer-oriented Cashier to handle point-of-sale transactions and ensure accurate recording of sales. The Cashier is responsible for processing payments, issuing receipts, balancing the cash drawer, and providing excellent customer service in accordance with company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Process cash, credit card, check, and other types of payments accurately and efficiently.
  • Issue receipts, refunds, or exchanges in line with company policies.
  • Maintain an accurate cash drawer by counting cash before and after each shift.
  • Ensure that all transactions are properly recorded in the POS system.
  • Prepare and submit daily cash and sales reports to the Store Supervisor or Accounting Department.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve minor concerns at the counter.
  • Coordinate with the sales and accounting teams regarding payment discrepancies or voided transactions.
  • Safeguard all cash, checks, and financial documents during the shift.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization at the cashier's counter and surrounding area.
  • Assist in basic administrative or clerical duties when necessary.

Requirements:

  • At least a High School Diploma; a degree or coursework in Business, Accounting, or related field is an advantage.
  • Experience as a cashier or in a customer service role (retail experience preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of accounting and POS systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling cash and financial transactions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Honest, reliable, and trustworthy.
  • Willing to work on weekends, holidays, and shifting schedules.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in retail or showroom sales operations.
  • Familiarity with basic bookkeeping or daily sales reconciliation.
  • Knowledge of inventory and receipt documentation.

Working Conditions:

  • Store-based role with regular interaction with customers.
  • Requires long hours of standing and working under minimal supervision.
  • May require overtime during sales events or peak seasons.
