We are looking for a Junior QA Engineer to support software quality assurance across enterprise-level insurance platforms for our AU Insurance company.

You will collaborate closely with Australian developers and business analysts to test Java-based web applications and ensure they meet client expectations. This role requires a strong eye for detail, foundational automation skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced software development environment.

Key Responsibilities

Software Testing

  • Execute manual and automated tests for Java web-based applications
  • Define, create, and run test cases based on client requirements
  • Use Selenium or similar tools for automation testing
  • Perform basic web-service and API testing
  • Validate data using SQL and relational databases

Quality Assurance & Collaboration

  • Log and track defects with development teams
  • Participate in internal QA reviews and ensure testing best practices
  • Communicate effectively with developers and clients
  • Maintain detailed documentation of test results and revisions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
  • 3 years of experience in software testing
  • Experience with manual and basic automation testing
  • Familiarity with Selenium or equivalent tools
  • Basic knowledge of web-service testing and SQL
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail, initiative, and ability to work with minimal supervision

Preferred Background

  • Exposure to Australian or international software projects
  • Understanding of insurance or financial platforms is a plus
