Junior Engineer URGENT

Position Title: Junior Engineer

Location: Head Office – BGC (with field assignments as required)

Reports To: Project Manager

Employment Type: Full-Time (Probationary – 6 months)

I. Position Overview

The Junior Engineer will play a key role in supporting the development and implementation of renewable energy and infrastructure projects under Basic Energy Corporation. This position provides technical and project management support across all phases of project development—from feasibility and design evaluation to implementation and reporting. The role requires a technically adept, detail-oriented, and proactive engineer with strong coordination and analytical skills.

II. Duties and Responsibilities

A. Technical Support

• Review, evaluate, and interpret technical drawings, engineering designs, and layout plans for renewable energy and infrastructure projects (solar, wind, hydro, and other RE sources).
• Conduct and coordinate site inspections, technical surveys, and assessments to validate design and development feasibility.
• Assist in the review of feasibility studies, technical proposals, and project design packages to ensure compliance with engineering standards and local regulations.
• Participate in technical and coordination meetings, providing engineering insights to support decision-making and project execution.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards, engineering codes, and environmental regulations during the project design and implementation stages.

B. Project Development and Implementation Support

• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and government agencies such as DOE, DENR, NGCP, and LGUs to facilitate permitting, compliance, and project milestones.
• Support in the preparation and submission of DOE applications including but not limited to Certificate of Authority, Service Contract, and COCOC.
• Assist in bid preparation, tender evaluation, and coordination with EPC contractors, suppliers, and consultants.
• Support in monitoring project schedules, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with corporate timelines and technical standards.
• Conduct due diligence, validation, and verification of technical reports submitted by contractors and project partners.
• Contribute to budget preparation, technical evaluations, and project costing as part of project development activities.

C. Documentation, Reporting, and Compliance

• Prepare and maintain comprehensive project records, technical documentation, and progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support in the development of project presentations, technical memos, and management reports.
• Ensure proper control, documentation, and archiving of all project-related technical and administrative files.
• Maintain updated records of regulatory permits, licenses, and engineering approvals for assigned projects.

III. Technical and Functional Competencies

• Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other relevant engineering and design tools.
• Familiar with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of engineering principles, renewable energy systems, and infrastructure development processes.
• Knowledgeable in DOE documentation, permitting processes, and environmental compliance requirements.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and project plans.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Strong coordination capability with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.

IV. Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering, or other related engineering fields.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in project development, preferably in renewable energy or infrastructure projects.
• Experience in energy project permitting, feasibility studies, and technical documentation is an advantage.
• Licensed Engineer (preferred but not required).
• Willing to travel to project sites across the Philippines when necessary.
