Job Summary
The Senior Inventory & Logistics Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing the company's inventory management and logistics operations to ensure accurate stock control, efficient warehousing, and timely distribution of goods. This role oversees inventory planning, demand forecasting, logistics coordination, and vendor management while implementing best practices to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and support overall business growth. The position requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and the ability to build effective processes and teams.
Responsibilities:
1. Inventory Management & Control
· Oversee end-to-end inventory operations, ensuring accuracy, availability, and proper stock rotation.
· Develop and implement inventory control policies and procedures to minimize variances, shrinkage, and obsolescence.
· Monitor inventory levels against demand forecasts and establish optimal reorder points.
· Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventory audits.
- Logistics & Distribution
· Manage and optimize inbound and outbound logistics to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
· Coordinate with internal departments and external partners to ensure efficient warehousing, transportation, and distribution.
· Establish logistics KPIs (e.g., lead time, delivery accuracy, freight cost) and drive continuous improvement.
- Planning & Forecasting
· Lead demand forecasting in collaboration with Sales, Procurement, and Finance teams to align inventory with business needs.
· Develop strategies for seasonal, high-demand, or slow-moving products.
· Implement tools and systems to improve forecasting accuracy.
- Vendor & Supplier Management
· Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, logistics partners, and third-party service providers.
· Negotiate contracts and service agreements to secure favorable terms and service levels.
· Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with company standards.
- Process Optimization & Cost Management
· Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce supply chain costs.
· Implement best practices in warehousing, distribution, and inventory control.
· Drive automation and digital transformation initiatives to streamline processes.
- Leadership & Team Development
· Lead, train, and mentor the inventory and logistics teams to enhance skills and performance.
· Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
· Set clear objectives, monitor performance, and provide regular feedback.
- Compliance & Risk Management
· Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, health and safety standards, and company policies.
· Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks in supply chain disruptions.
· Maintain accurate documentation for audits and regulatory reviews.
- Reporting & Analytics
· Track and analyze inventory and logistics metrics to identify trends, issues, and improvement areas.
· Prepare and present reports to senior management on stock status, logistics efficiency, and cost performance.
· Provide insights to support data-driven decision-making.
Qualifications
· 7–10 years of progressive experience in inventory management and logistics, with at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership role.
· Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory systems, demand planning, and logistics management.
· Proficiency in ERP/WMS systems and MS Office applications.
· Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
· Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
· Effective communication, negotiation, and vendor management skills
