Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Merchandising Manager to lead the development and execution of merchandising strategies within the retail/home improvement industry. The role is responsible for driving product assortment, pricing, promotions, and supplier relationships to maximize sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction. This position will play a key role in aligning merchandising plans with the company's overall business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end merchandising function, including assortment planning, product selection, pricing strategy, and promotions.
  • Develop and implement category strategies that drive sales growth, profitability, and customer loyalty.
  • Build and maintain strong vendor and supplier relationships to secure competitive pricing, terms, and exclusive product offerings.
  • Monitor market trends, consumer insights, and competitor activities to identify new opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations, Marketing, and Supply Chain teams to ensure seamless execution of merchandising initiatives.
  • Analyze sales, margins, and inventory performance to optimize product mix and minimize stock-outs or overstocks.
  • Manage a team of Merchandising Managers/Buyers, providing coaching, development, and performance management.
  • Oversee visual merchandising standards and ensure consistency across stores.
  • Lead negotiations with suppliers and vendors, ensuring compliance with company policies and objectives.
  • Prepare business reviews, sales forecasts, and reports for senior management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Retail Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of merchandising experience in retail, preferably within the home improvement, hardware, or FMCG industry.
  • At least 3–5 years in a managerial capacity handling multiple categories.
  • Strong negotiation, vendor management, and supplier relationship skills.
  • Proven experience in assortment planning, pricing strategies, and promotional execution.
  • Analytical mindset with strong business acumen.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
