We are seeking a dedicated and highly proficient CAD Operator to join our technical team. The primary responsibility is producing precise, detailed 2D drawings using AutoCAD. This role will evolve to include crucial responsibilities in material estimation and critical support in the permit application process.

Key Responsibilities

  • CAD Drafting: Produce, revise, and manage highly accurate 2D technical drawings, schematics, and layouts based on engineer/architect sketches and specifications, primarily utilizing AutoCAD.
  • Permit Documentation: Assist in the preparation, filing, and tracking of technical documents required for local and national permit applications and clearances.
  • Material Estimation Support: Perform quantity take-offs and develop preliminary material lists (training will be provided for our specific processes).
  • Document Management: Maintain an organized, up-to-date filing system for all digital and physical plans.

Qualifications and Requirements

Mandatory

  • Education: Must be a College Graduate (Any relevant technical degree, such as Engineering, Architecture, Drafting Technology, etc., is preferred).
  • Technical Proficiency (Essential): Demonstrated high proficiency and speed in AutoCAD (2D). Candidates must be able to perform advanced drafting tasks accurately under minimal supervision.
  • Work Style: Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple document tasks simultaneously.

Highly Desirable (Bonus Qualifications)

  • 3D/Rendering Software: Experience with 3D modeling or rendering software (e.g., SketchUp, Revit, 3ds Max, Lumion).
  • Electrical Plans Knowledge: Basic understanding or prior experience reading and interpreting electrical layouts and plans (a strong plus for efficient instruction and project flow).
