About this job

The Senior Accountant supports the Global Shared Services Record-to-Report team in performing general accounting tasks for multiple consolidated entities. This includes balance sheet account reconciliations, project accounting, monthly journal entries, and intercompany reconciliations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable to working in a global, remote environment. This role requires a self-starter who can work independently while operating within the structure of a Global Finance team managed from the US.

Core Duties by Competency:

Knows the Business

• Support month-end close processes and reporting

• Perform general ledger reconciliations

• Maintain and amortize prepaid expense accounts

• Manage fixed asset additions, retirements, and depreciation

• Handle intercompany reconciliations

• Prepare and record expense accruals and amortizations

• Perform accounting for internally developed software capitalization

• Provide monthly accounting support for multiple subsidiaries

• Review and resolve general ledger discrepancies

• Handle other ad hoc reports as needed

• Book various general ledger monthly journal entries

• Oversee the recording of payroll and benefits entries

• Demonstrate ownership and initiative in completing assigned accounting tasks with minimal supervision.

• Share knowledge and best practices to help streamline accounting processes across entities.

• Provide guidance to junior accountants or new team members when applicable.

• Model accountability and accuracy in deliverables to set performance standards for others.

• Proactively communicate potential issues, risks, or process gaps to management, suggesting practical solutions. Accountable

• Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting (CPA preferred but not required)

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2–3 years being G/L focused

• Experience in Shared Services or BPO environments is an advantage

• Proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite experience a plus)

• Strong balance sheet reconciliation experience required

• Good understanding of U.S. GAAP or IFRS preferred

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS applications

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail

• Organized and accurate in work performed

• Able to work independently with minimal supervision

• Strong and effective written and verbal English communication skills

• Ability to maintain productivity and communication in a small team remotely

• Flexible with work hours, particularly during month-end close

• Knowledge of local tax and compliance a plus, but not required

• Comfortable working in a remote setup and participating in video meetings

• Stable home internet connection required

Working Conditions

• Work Setup: Fully remote (work-from-home)

• Minimum internet speed of 25 mbps download and 25 mbps upload; Directly connected into modem; No satellite

• Schedule: Must be physically able and willing to work during U.S. business hours (night shift as applicable)
