Australian Accountant

Location: Remote / Philippines-based Talent only

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Australian Accountant with a strong background in Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS) using Xero. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Australian tax regulations and a proven track record of managing accounting processes and compliance efficiently. This role requires attention to detail, proficiency in Xero, and the ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:
•

BAS and IAS Preparation:
o Accurately prepare and lodge BAS and IAS for clients, ensuring compliance with theAustralian Taxation Office (ATO) regulations and deadlines.
o Review and reconcile GST, PAYG withholding, PAYG instalments, and other relevanttax components in Xero to ensure accurate reporting.

Financial Reporting:
o Generate and review financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balancesheets, and cash flow statements using Xero.
o Assist clients in understanding their financial position and provide insights andrecommendations for improving financial performance.

Xero Accounting Management:
o Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records in Xero, including accountspayable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries.
o Manage Xero integrations, ensuring that all financial data is accurately captured andreflected in the system.

Compliance and Tax Advisory:
o Provide expert advice on tax compliance, including GST, income tax, andsuperannuation obligations.
o Stay updated on changes in Australian tax laws and regulations to ensure clientsremain compliant and informed of any impacts on their business.

Client Relationship Management:
o Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, offering ongoing support andadvice tailored to their specific accounting needs.
o Communicate complex accounting concepts in a clear and understandable mannerto clients with varying levels of financial knowledge.

Audit and Review Support:
o Assist in the preparation of documents and reports required for audits or reviews bythe ATO or external auditors.
o Work closely with clients and auditors to ensure smooth audit processes and timelyresolution of any queries.

Qualifications and Experience:

Education:
o Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. o CPA or CA qualification preferred.

Experience:

o Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on BAS and IAS preparation in Australia.

o Extensive experience using Xero for accounting and tax management.

Skills:

o Proficient in Xero accounting software, including advanced features and integrations.

o Strong knowledge of Australian tax regulations, particularly GST, PAYG, and superannuation.

o Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy. o Strong communication and client management skills.
