About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee and manage the procurement operations of our construction business. This role requires strong leadership, excellent negotiation skills, and an in-depth understanding of construction materials and supply chain processes. The Purchasing Manager will ensure that all procurement activities are cost-efficient, timely, and aligned with company goals, while building and maintaining strong supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities

1. Team Leadership and Supervision

  • Lead and manage a team of buyers, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and in line with departmental goals.

2. Operational Management & Oversight

  • Oversee day-to-day purchasing operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Manage resources and optimize supply chain operations to support company objectives.

3. Supplier Management

  • Approve cost comparison analyses, both local and foreign.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to secure favorable deals.
  • Manage supplier accreditations, purchase orders, payments, brokers/forwarders, pricelists, and return items.

4. Vendor Performance Evaluation

  • Monitor supplier performance in terms of quality, delivery, and compliance.
  • Address and resolve disputes to ensure standards are maintained.

5. Order Management

  • Place and oversee orders to meet production schedules and business needs.
  • Coordinate with planning and inventory teams to balance stock levels.
  • Ensure timely delivery and resolve order-related issues.
  • Develop and implement reports to track purchasing performance.

6. Cost Management and Budgeting

  • Manage the purchasing budget, ensuring cost efficiency.
  • Conduct cost analysis and create strategies for savings without compromising quality.
  • Align purchasing decisions with financial targets.

7. Inventory Control

  • Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.
  • Implement systems to streamline inventory tracking and reporting.

8. Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and legal requirements.
  • Anticipate and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions or supplier solvency.

9. Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Analyze procurement data to identify improvements and savings opportunities.
  • Prepare reports on procurement costs, savings, and supplier performance for senior management.

10. Cross-Department Collaboration

  • Partner with production, finance, and operations to align procurement with organizational needs.
  • Participate in strategic planning and forecasting to anticipate future requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Purchasing/Procurement Manager in the construction industry.
  • Strong background in construction materials and supply chain management.
  • Proven negotiation, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with construction industry standards, practices, and regulations.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other computer applications.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Php60, Php65,000.00 per month
