Celon Group is seeking an experienced Microsoft 365 Engineer to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong technical background and a minimum of 5 years' experience in Microsoft 365 and infrastructure engineering.

You will be working directly with Celon and our clients – including some of the UK's largest organisations – to deliver secure, scalable and high-performing Microsoft 365 solutions. Importantly, you will operate as part of Celon's expert team, not as an embedded member of client staff.

The role requires proven expertise in the management and administration of SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams, alongside patch management, Windows Server administration, automation, and incident resolution. You'll play a key role in resolving incidents, engaging directly with users, and feeding into problem and change management processes.

Key responsibilities

Microsoft 365 & Azure Management

• Administer and support Microsoft 365 services, including Office 365, Entra ID, Intune, Purview and Azure Virtual Desktop
• Manage and administer SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams environments
• Manage Azure infrastructure including security and basic networking/firewall configurations

Incident, Problem & Change Management

• Pick up and resolve incidents in a timely and professional manner
• Work directly with users to diagnose and fix issues
• Feed into wider problem and change management processes to improve stability and service delivery

Patch & Systems Management

• Oversee patch management and updates for Microsoft and Windows Server environments
• Ensure systems remain compliant, secure and up-to-date

Automation & Troubleshooting

• Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation and efficiency
• Identify, debug and resolve infrastructure issues to maintain optimal system performance

System Administration & Security

• Perform Windows Server administration alongside Microsoft 365 and Azure tasks
• Maintain compliance with information security policies and best practices
• Support infrastructure monitoring and security processes

Client Engagement & Support

• Provide expert guidance on Microsoft 365 and Azure solutions
• Collaborate with clients to optimise infrastructure performance and security
• Stay updated with the latest Microsoft 365 trends, tools and best practices

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in a 2nd/3rd line Microsoft 365 / Infrastructure Engineer role
• Strong technical skills across Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, Entra ID and Microsoft Defender (or equivalent)
• Proven experience in the management and administration of SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams
• Experience with Windows Server administration and patch management
• Skilled in PowerShell scripting for automation and troubleshooting
• Strong background in incident resolution and contributing to problem and change management
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including Azure firewall management
• Knowledgeable in infrastructure monitoring tools and security processes
• Excellent communication, user-facing engagement, and problem-solving skills

Desirable Skills & Qualifications

• A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
• Certifications such as AZ-900, MS-900 or SC-900
• Experience with advanced Microsoft 365 security and compliance solutions
• Awareness of information security policies, vulnerability management and risk assessments
