Job Purpose
The supply chain planning superintendent primarily plans, coordinates, directs, schedules the production and raw materials procurement for DSI Operations. The planner ensures product demand is produced/procured in a timely, quality, and cost-effective manner through accurate planning and close coordination with all involved departments and operating groups to meet the customer requirement. Planners direct the control of inventory levels for finished goods, brites, and raw and packaging materials to optimize the working capital to the minimum level. Reporting to the DSI Supply Chain Manager, the planner's responsibilities is listed but is not limited to the following:
- Provides the List of Priority Items and its Volume to Pack, Package and Ship for the weekly confirmation of shipment; and monitors and follows up the progress of the said list and presents it to the daily meeting.
- Conducts weekly review of the Production Plans for all markets. This includes Pack Plans to Production Operations, Packaging Plans to Packaging Operations, and Shipping Plans to the Shipping team.
- Joins weekly conference calls with the markets and takes note of the updates and directions on issues and concerns.
- Gathers, prepares, and provides details for the Annual Budget of production in reference to the Finance information requirements.
- Coordinates with different departments on project timeline execution specific to Future Core NPDs.
- Suggest initiatives on cost savings and process improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities
A. Production Planning (Pack, Packaging, Shipping)
- Generates, reviews, and finalizes the Weekly Production (pack, packaging, shipping) Plans based on demand and supply.
- Facilitates proper coordination with Operations, QA, and R&D to ensure the production (pack, packaging, shipping) plans are being followed and priority items are being taken into consideration.
- Monitors the actual pack, actual packaging, actual shipping output relative to the plan issued; and provides regular feedback to Customer Service Team and Manager for any concerns related to the plans.
- Ensures that the production (pack and packaging) schedules are current and sequenced for maximum productivity and can fulfill the commitment on customer delivery requirements.
- Presents the plan and actual pack and actual packaged quantity in the regular meeting with Operations.
- Analyzes the Master Production Plans for the projected daily production target in the incoming periods.
- Coordinates closely with Customer Service Team for the priority items for shipment,
- Ensures that the concerns of Warehousing and Shipping Team are being considered. These concerns will involve but not limited to vessel closing time, first day of return of containers to the port, electric charge, demurrage charge, unavailability of containers, and warehouse space constraints among others.
- Provides updated information on container projection as input to the Shipping Team.
B. Procurement Planning
- Plans for the procurement of raw (packaging) materials unique to DSI operations: plastics, bottles, boxes, labels, among others.
- Controls and maintains appropriate safety stock and inventory levels across inventories and periodically reviews with concerned departments.
- Ensures that inventories of materials are within approved levels, preventing stock-outs and overstocking.
C. Inventory Analysis
- Review and identify non-moving and slow-moving inventories and provide disposition strategies in close coordination with concerned department and Markets write-offs & charging.
- Maintain inventory levels aligned to company targets, monitors, and provides initiatives to continuously improve inventory system accuracy.
D. Other Related Tasks
- Works closely with NPD/Business Development team for inquiries on production and timelines of existing products or new products developments.
- Provides disposition guidance to impounded inventories.
- Review and approve packaging specifications, requisition of new materials, & Bill of Materials.
- Supports and coordinates the implementation of new projects as well as initiating process improvements related to production execution.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education / Experiences
Education: Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Supply Chain Management | Logistics | Industrial Engineering | Project Management | Business Administration | Operations Research | other Engineering Courses | other Management Courses
Experience: 3 to 5 years of work experience in Supply Chain Officer Functions | Operations Research and other related disciplines.
