  • Transaction Processing: Collect payments from customers through cash, credit, or debit cards, and issue receipts. Ensure all transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.
  • Customer Interaction: Greet customers, assist them with inquiries, and provide information about products and services. Handle customer complaints and resolve issues as needed.
  • Cash Register Management: Operate cash registers and maintain accurate cash drawers. Balance the cash register at the end of shifts and report discrepancies.
  • Product Scanning and Pricing: Scan items for sale, ensure prices are correct, and apply discounts or promotions as applicable. Manually enter prices when necessary.
  • Returns and Exchanges: Process returns and exchanges according to store policies, ensuring customer satisfaction while adhering to company guidelines.
  • Maintaining Cleanliness: Keep the checkout area clean and organized, ensuring a pleasant shopping experience for customers.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Customer Service Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with customers and provide assistance.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to accurately handle transactions and maintain precise records.
  • Basic Math Skills: Proficiency in basic arithmetic to calculate totals and make change.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with cash registers, scanners, and point-of-sale systems.
  • Work Ethic: Dependability and a strong work ethic, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
