Job Summary:

The SAP Basis Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of SAP systems, with a strong focus on supporting finance-related modules and operations (e.g., SAP FI/CO, SAP S/4HANA Finance). This role ensures system performance, security, and availability to support business-critical financial processes and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain SAP applications, databases, and infrastructure, primarily supporting financial modules.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure high availability of SAP systems.
  • Perform system upgrades, patches, kernel updates, and transport management across development, QA, and production environments.
  • Collaborate with finance, accounting, and IT functional teams to ensure seamless integration of finance processes and data flow.
  • Manage user access, roles, and authorizations in accordance with financial controls and audit requirements.
  • Conduct routine system backups and disaster recovery simulations.
  • Analyze system logs and performance metrics; provide recommendations for system tuning and capacity planning.
  • Support finance-specific SAP initiatives such as month-end/year-end closing, financial reporting, or SAP FI/CO enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, change management procedures, and IT governance standards.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and technical solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 2–4 years of experience in SAP Basis administration, preferably in a finance-oriented SAP environment.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP FI/CO modules, SAP S/4HANA, and database platforms (e.g., HANA, Oracle, MS SQL).
  • Familiarity with SAP Solution Manager, SAP GUI, and SAP NetWeaver architecture.
  • Understanding of ITIL processes and financial compliance requirements.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities to support cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working in a secure and audited environment is an advantage.
