Summary of Job Role and Place in Organization

As a Payment Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our online payment systems across key PSPs (e.g. Adyen, Stripe, Klarna, PayPal) and testing platforms (e.g. Applause). You will monitor performance andanalyse PSP-data, manage PSP configurations, maintain and test payment methods, and incidents, and act as the operational contact for PSPs. This hands-on role will be based in Mandaluyong, Philippines and reports to the Business Owner for Checkout & Payments.

Purpose of the Job

The Payment Operations Specialist ensures seamless, secure, and high-performing online payment flows across all payment service providers and checkout configurations. You will be responsible for basic configuration settings (functional, non-technical) in PSP platforms, monitoring key metrics such as auth rate, success rate and chargebacks, and supporting incident resolution. Your work directly contributes to improving Checkout performance and customer experience.

Responsibilities/Core Tasks

• Proactively monitor and analyse transaction success rates, fraud checks, chargebacks  

• Manage and configure basic settings in platforms like Adyen, Klarna, PayPal, and Stripe 

• Suggest adding new payment methods based on analysis for specific countries/webshops  

• Set up and execute structured payment testing with QA teams and platforms like Applause 

• Proactively monitor transaction success rates, fraud checks, chargebacks, and routing behavior 

• Analyse payment data to identify drop-offs and surface operational improvements 

• Document configuration settings, testing procedures, and support workflows 

• Collaborate with PSPs on operational and technical topics, follow up on open items and platform updates 

• Work closely with the Product Owner Checkout and Scrum Team and analytics teams to maintain a reliable payment experience 

• Handle the user management of the PSP's

Individual / Job-Specific:

• Experience: 1–4 years in online payments, eCommerce, PSPs, or fintech operations 

• Technical Skills: 

o Familiarity with PSP platforms such as Adyen, Stripe, Klarna, and PayPal  

o Experience with QA/test tools like Applause is a nice to have 

o Basic analytical skills (e.g. Google Analytics, Excel, SQL, Datadog) 

o Understanding of fraud checks, chargebacks, and 3DS 

• Communication: Clear communication with both technical and business stakeholders 

• Attention to Detail: Structured approach to configuration and testing 

• Problem-Solving: Ability to investigate and resolve payment issues quickly 

• Efficiency: Manages multiple platforms, tools, and issues in a fast-paced environment 

• Independence: Self-sufficient in handling daily ops, but works well with other teams 

• Learning Agility: Willingness to dive into new PSP features, APIs, and regulations

Bonus Skills (Preferred but not Required)

• Experience with multiregional/global payment setups 

• Experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud 

• Knowledge of PSD2, PCI, or other compliance frameworks 

• Familiarity with PSP sandbox environments and API documentation 

• Experience with monitoring tools like Datadog, Sentry, or A/B testing in checkout
