Now, we're ready to take the next step in our journey—and we're looking for a Project-Based Web Developer to lead the transformation of our website.

The Mission

Our current site has served us well, but we're ready to migrate to a new platform that better reflects who we are and what we offer. This isn't just a technical task—it's a chance to reshape how travelers discover, book, and connect with Smart Suites online.

The Web Developer will be responsible for migrating Smart Suites' website from its current proprietary platform (hosted by Lodgify) to WordPress. This project includes implementing a booking widget provided by Mews and ensuring full functionality across devices. The role requires a highly skilled developer with strong front-end expertise and experience in SEO migration, WordPress, and API/widget integrations. The ideal candidate will ensure the migration is seamless, mobile-responsive, and optimized for performance. Additional experience in the hospitality industry, particularly with online booking systems, is a plus.

Key Expectations

Website Migration:

  • Lead the migration and/or conversion of the website to WordPress as the confirmed CMS platform.
  • Ensure SEO best practices are followed during the migration, including redirects, sitemap preservation, and meta tag handling.

Front-End Development:

  • Develop and enhance web pages using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other front-end technologies.
  • Ensure mobile responsiveness and cross-browser compatibility.

CMS Expertise:

  • Manage and customize WordPress (with Elementor or similar tools) for seamless site setup and functionality.
  • Ensure smooth integration of custom templates and features based on project requirements.

API & Widget Integration:

  • Integrate third-party booking/POS widgets (e.g., Mews POS widget) into the site.
  • Embed custom scripts as needed to meet specific functional requirements.

Hospitality Website Experience (Preferred):

  • Knowledge of online booking systems and user flow, particularly within the hospitality industry, is a plus.
  • Mews: A property management system (PMS) designed for hotels and serviced apartments, helping manage reservations, guest check-ins, and integrations with booking channels.
  • Lodgify: A vacation rental software that allows property managers to create booking websites, manage reservations, sync calendars with platforms like Airbnb and , and process payments.

Hosting & DNS Management:

  • Manage domain setup, SSL certificates, and CDN (e.g., Cloudflare) configurations for optimal website performance.
  • Oversee DNS settings and hosting to ensure smooth operation post-migration.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in web development, especially with CMS platforms (WordPress).
  • Strong proficiency in front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of SEO migration processes and best practices.
  • Experience in API and third-party widget integration.
  • Familiarity with DNS, SSL, and CDN services.
  • Hospitality industry experience, particularly with booking systems, is a plus.
  • Portfolio Required: Applications without a portfolio of past projects will not be considered. Your portfolio should clearly demonstrate your ability to deliver beautiful, functional, and performance-driven websites.
