BRIEF DESCRIPTION

The Transport Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the company's transportation activities, ensuring efficient dispatching, route management, and supervision of drivers and helpers. This role is pivotal in optimizing logistics operations, maintaining excellent service levels, and ensuring full compliance with transport regulations and safety standards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to plan, organize, and manage daily transport operations to ensure on-time deliveries that meet customer requirements.
  • Proven experience in monitoring and managing vehicle dispatch to achieve timely, accurate, and efficient delivery performance.
  • Ability to address and resolve transport-related issues or customer complaints swiftly and professionally.
  • Ensures strict adherence to local transportation laws, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Skilled in implementing cost-effective strategies to manage and reduce transportation and logistics expenses.
  • Experience in preparing and analyzing transport KPIs, reports, and performance metrics to identify and act on improvement areas.
  • Strong background in developing and implementing transport policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance efficiency and service quality.
  • Effective collaboration with warehouse and planning teams to streamline operations and improve delivery turnaround time.
  • Strong capability to supervise and lead drivers and helpers, including recruitment, training, performance management, and discipline.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, Transportation Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in transport planning, logistics, or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation planning, fleet management, route optimization. and managing third-party logistics providers.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
