Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and results-oriented Store Manager to join the Ace Hardware Operations team. The Store Manager is crucial for ensuring the store's growth and profitability. This role guarantees operational efficiency, optimal performance of the selling staff, and high-quality customer and employee support services. You will be responsible for driving sales, overseeing accurate counter and treasury operations, proactive team management, and consistent sales reporting to management.

Key Responsibilities

As a Store Manager, your main duties will fall into the following areas:

Sales Performance and Profitability

  • Achieve and monitor daily sales targets for outright and consignor items.
  • Control petty cash and counter transactions, analyze variances, and initiate corrective actions to meet financial objectives.
  • Monitor own and staff's daily sales performance versus targets and determine team strategies to reach goals.
  • Actively support events by pushing New Product Developments (NPDs) and implementing promos and selling instructions.

Inventory Management and Operations

  • Ensure merchandise availability by constant monitoring, reordering, and stock transfers.
  • Secure merchandise by adhering to security systems to maintain shrinkage at acceptable levels.
  • Maintain excellent store condition and ensure compliance with Store Planograms, Display Standards, Visual Merchandising guidelines, and DTI regulations.
  • Ensure the delivery of fast and accurate counter service and monitor team compliance with counter operations process guidelines.

Customer Focus

  • Maintain excellent customer service by implementing the S.A.L.E.S process.
  • Identify current and future customer requirements to understand their product/service needs.
  • Manage and develop the store's customer database and initiate text and email blasts for store sale events.
  • Handle and follow-up on corporate account receivables and manage the store's cash and check sales collections for deposit.

Leadership and Management

  • Lead the Selling Staff.
  • Maintain store staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
  • Orient, train, and recommend further appropriate training for subordinates on category NPDs and sales growth initiatives.
  • Manage all assigned resources (manpower, merchandise, equipment, and information) and ensure timely reporting of HR, Accounting, and other Head Office requirements.
  • Ensure branch compliance with all ACE policies, standards, and reportorial requirements.

Qualifications

  • Education: College graduate.
  • Experience: With at least three years of experience in sales operations.
  • Required Competencies: Proven Leadership Skills, Supervisory Skills, Inventory Management, Retail Financials, and Product Knowledge.
