Application Engineer – Remote

This investment will scale Vault's SECRET Cloud and introduce new services such as the AUKUS cloud capability, directly addressing Australia's strategic national security demands. Due to Vault's commitment to innovation and high-governance product development, we are looking for an Application Engineer role to join our Delivery team to support the company's expansion. This role is integral to developing and maintaining our custom billing system using Ruby on Rails, contributing to the new ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) stack, enhancing identity systems with FreeIPA, and utilizing GitLab for CI/CD. This is a remote role and is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of developing and integrating cutting-edge cloud products that protect some of Australia's most critical data.

You will be responsible for:

• System Development & Maintenance: Ensure the design, development, and upkeep of high-quality, scalable systems.
• Collaboration & Communication: Work cross-functionally to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Development Lifecycle & Quality: Engage in Vault's SDLC, leveraging DevOps practices and maintaining coding standards.
• Product & Release Planning: Contribute to backlog management, resource planning, and efficient product delivery.
• Technical Leadership: Stay ahead of industry trends, drive innovation, and optimize system design.

To be successful you will be able to demonstrate with:

• Proficiency in Ruby on Rails for application development.
• Experience in system design and architecture, ensuring scalable and efficient solutions.
• Familiarity with GitLab administration and CI/CD pipeline management.
• Ability to contribute across multiple technical domains, including hardware, software, and systems development.
• Adaptability and rapid prototyping skills, enabling quick proof-of-concept development for new technologies or approaches.
