Role Summary

The Senior Tax Preparer is responsible for preparing individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations,provides strategic tax planning advice, and supports audits.

Location: Must be residing in the Philippines– Remote. 

Environment: Philippines and International Teams.

Language: Advanced English (B2+ - C1). 

Timezone: [Indicate shift]. 

Employment Type: Full-time. 

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses.
  • Conduct detailed tax research to support tax positions and stay current on evolving tax laws and regulations.
  • Advise tax strategies to minimize liabilities and maximize benefits.
  • Compile documentation for audits and act as liaison with tax authorities.
  • Maintain accurate tax records and databases.
  • Respond to client and regulatory inquiries promptly and professionally. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA or EA certification strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 3+ years of tax preparation experience, including complex returns.
  • Proficiency in tax software and accounting tools like QuickBooks.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws.
  • Multi-state tax preparation and familiarity with individual and business tax returns
  • Understanding of Ohio state and local taxes. Specifically, Ohio local income tax
  • Experience with CCH Axcess Tax
  • Experience handling audits and interacting with regulatory agencies.
  • Technical: Advanced tax law knowledge, tax research, compliance, and planning.
  • Analytical: Ability to interpret complex financial data and identify tax-saving opportunities.
  • Attention to Detail: Accuracy in preparing returns and documentation.
  • Communication: Clear verbal and written communication with clients and team members.
