I. JOB SUMMARY:

The Sales Engineer is responsible for developing technically sound and cost-effective solar energy solutions for commercial, industrial, and institutional clients. This role bridges the gap between the client's energy requirements and the company's engineering and implementation capabilities. The position involves conducting site surveys, preparing detailed system proposals, and ensuring technical accuracy and competitiveness in every bid and presentation.

The Sales Engineer works closely with the Sales Manager, Engineering, and Project Implementation teams to ensure a smooth handover from proposal to project execution while maintaining profitability, quality, and client satisfaction.

II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Sales Performance and Target Achievement

· Meet or exceed assigned monthly and annual sales targets through active project pursuit, client engagement, and proposal follow-ups.

· Maintain an updated sales pipeline and track progress of each opportunity through all stages of the sales cycle.

· Prepare regular sales reports and updates to management on target performance and opportunities.

2. Technical Sales Development

· Conduct technical site assessments to gather critical data for system design and sizing.

· Analyze client requirements and energy profiles to develop optimized solar PV system proposals.

· Prepare and present detailed technical and financial proposals, including ROI and payback analysis.

· Coordinate with the Engineering Department for preliminary system design, single-line diagrams, and component specifications.

· Support the Sales Manager in technical discussions, presentations, and negotiations with clients, consultants, and EPC partners.

· Ensure all proposals comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company design protocols.

3. Costing and Proposal Management

· Prepare accurate costing sheets, ensuring all materials, labor, and logistics are considered.

· Validate and compare supplier quotations to support competitive pricing and profitability.

· Participate in bid preparations, tender documentation, and client technical clarifications.

· Coordinate with Procurement for price validation and availability of materials and components.

4. Project Coordination and Handover

· Facilitate technical turnover of awarded projects to the Project Implementation Team, ensuring complete documentation and understanding of client expectations.

· Support Engineering and Project Teams in addressing client queries during implementation.

· Provide technical input in progress meetings when required.

· Ensure smooth coordination between sales commitments and actual project execution.

5. Market and Product Knowledge

· Stay updated on industry trends, technology developments, and competitor products.

· Maintain familiarity with solar PV system components, inverter technologies, and mounting structures.

· Participate in training and certification programs to enhance technical and commercial competency.

III. QUALIFICATIONS:

· Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.

· Experience: At least 3–5 years of experience in technical sales, design, or pre-sales engineering in the solar or renewable energy sector. Experience in project costing, design validation, and proposal preparation is an advantage.

· Skills:

o Strong understanding of solar PV systems, electrical design, and cost estimation.

o Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.

o Proficient in MS Excel, AutoCAD, or equivalent design tools.

o High initiative, strong coordination skills, and results-oriented mindset.

o Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
