Mechanical Quantity Surveyor

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for MPS (Mechanical, Plumbing, Sanitary) components in construction projects.
• Develop budgets and financial plans for projects, ensuring all costs are properly accounted for.
• Monitor and control costs throughout the project lifecycle to ensure budget compliance.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and verify works against contract requirements.
• Perform valuations of work in progress and prepare interim and final payment recommendations.
• Identify, analyze, and develop responses to commercial risks.
• Administer and manage contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
• Resolve contractual and commercial issues that may arise during project execution.
• Provide regular reports on the financial status of projects, including cost forecasts and final account settlements.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting to project stakeholders.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders to align on scope, progress, and cost changes.
• Ensure all parties are informed of project progress and any changes in project scope or financial implications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in Quantity Surveying, specifically handling Mechanical systems in large-scale construction projects.
• Proven expertise in cost estimation, budgeting, and contract administration.
• Strong analytical and numerical abilities with keen attention to detail.
• Excellent knowledge of construction methods, MPS systems, and materials.
• Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic project environment.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing project demands and schedules.

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term
