
Project Site Laborer

Job Type : Full-Time
Work Hour s: 8 Hours with Overtime if necessary
Travel Required : Yes
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general construction labor, including site preparation, material handling, and cleanup.
- Assist skilled tradespeople such as carpenters, electricians, scaffold erectors, masons and the like.
- Support scaffold setup/dismantling, and assist in operations requiring work at height (e.g., roofing, signage installation).
- Carry out auxiliary duties such as loading/unloading, moving equipment, or operating simple tools and machinery.
- Maintain cleanliness and order on job sites.
- Carry materials to designated areas and ensure proper storage.
- Participate in hazard identification and toolbox talks.
- Assist in erecting temporary structures like barricades or platforms.
- Adapt to various environments, including indoor, outdoor, and elevated workspaces.
- Follow and adhere to all safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Expanded Auxiliary Work Responsibilities:
In addition to core construction labor, the General Laborer will be expected to support various auxiliary tasks that ensure smooth daily operations on and around the worksite. These may include, but are not limited to:
Driving and Transportation Support
Operate company vehicles to transport tools, materials, or crew members between sites.
- Perform pickup and delivery of construction supplies or equipment from vendors or warehouses.
- Ensure proper loading/unloading and secure transportation of materials.
- Maintain daily vehicle logs and report maintenance needs.
Material Handling and Inventory
Assist in receiving, organizing, and storing supplies and materials.
- Perform stock checks and report shortages or damaged goods.
- Replenish materials on job sites as needed.
Site Maintenance and Clean-Up
Keep work areas clear of debris, tools, and obstructions.
- Manage waste disposal, including separating and removing recyclable or hazardous materials.
- Support routine site inspections for safety compliance.
Basic Tool and Equipment Maintenance
Clean and maintain hand tools and small equipment.
- Report tool malfunctions or damage to supervisors.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of workstations and machinery.
Support for Specialized Work
Hold, lift, or position equipment, ladders, or materials for tradespeople.
- Assist with measurements, leveling, and alignment of materials.
- Help with temporary installations (e.g., signage, barriers, lighting).
Administrative/Clerical Support (Light Duty)
Help track material usage or hours worked on basic logs.
- Assist in labeling or organizing tools and materials.
- Relay messages or coordinate between teams if communication devices are used.
Security and Monitoring Duties
Assist in monitoring site access and ensuring only authorized personnel enter restricted areas.
- Support after-hours checks or temporary site surveillance (rotational or standby basis).
Traffic and Pedestrian Control (if trained)
Set up and take down traffic control signs and barriers.
- Act as a flagger or guide when needed to support safe vehicle and pedestrian movement.
These auxiliary responsibilities are critical in ensuring efficient operations, safety, and compliance to achieve successful project completion.
Candidates should be prepared to take initiative and adapt to a variety of non-specialized roles that the project would need.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in general labor, construction, or related fields is preferred.
- Comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions.
- Basic understanding of construction tools and equipment.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to travel between job sites as required.
- Valid Driver's License (required).
- Valid Working at Heights Certification (preferred and/or required).
- Valid Forklift or aerial lift license (optional but beneficial).
Work Conditions:
Physically demanding: long hours standing, lifting, bending, and climbing.
- Work at elevated locations using harnesses, ladders, and scaffolding.
- Exposure to noise, dust, and outdoor elements.
- Variable work schedule depending on project timelines and weather.
