As part of our continuous drive for quality, safety, and innovation, we are looking for a dedicated Risk and Data Privacy Specialist to join our growing team.
About the Role
The Risk and Data Privacy Specialist plays a key role in strengthening the hospital's governance, risk, and compliance framework. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring programs on risk management, business continuity, and data privacy.
You will ensure that all departments identify and mitigate operational and data-related risks, comply with the Data Privacy Act of 2012, and uphold the highest standards of patient safety and information security.
Key Responsibilities
Risk Management
- Maintain and update hospital-wide risk registers.
- Ensure mitigation plans are in place for high and critical risks.
- Monitor the implementation of risk mitigation actions.
- Prepare and submit regular risk reports for management review.
Business Continuity Management
- Oversee the maintenance and testing of Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) across all units.
- Facilitate BCP drills and simulations to assess readiness.
- Verify and track corrective actions resulting from BCP evaluations.
Data Privacy Management
- Ensure timely submission of reports and registration renewals with the National Privacy Commission (NPC).
- Conduct and review Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) for new and existing systems.
- Investigate data breach incidents promptly and recommend corrective measures.
- Conduct privacy audits and promote compliance with data protection policies.
- Lead hospital-wide privacy awareness campaigns and training programs.
Training and Development
- Conduct Risk Management and Data Privacy training sessions for employees and stakeholders.
- Support a culture of awareness, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Patient Safety and Reporting
- Support patient safety initiatives through active participation in risk reduction and reporting programs.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on risk management and data protection activities.
Policy and Process Review
- Review and update policies, procedures, and forms to ensure alignment with regulatory and organizational standards.
Qualifications
- Graduate of any four (4)-year Bachelor's Degree.
- Completion of formal training in Risk Management, Data Privacy, or Business Continuity Planning is preferred.
- Certified Data Protection Officer (CDPO) certification is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience in healthcare, compliance, or information governance is a plus.
