WHAT IS A/AN DATA SCIENTIST?

At OptiCloud, we're pioneering digital sustainability by redefining how businesses and individuals manage their data in the cloud era. Our AI-powered platform identifies and eliminates digital waste—unnecessary compute, redundant data, idle resources—turning inefficiency into actionable savings for businesses and measurable climate impact for the planet.

We're looking for an exceptional Data Scientist to join our mission-driven team and shape the algorithms and methodologies at the heart of our platform. You will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing cutting-edge machine learning models to analyze cloud data, email, photo, video, and other common data types to optimize storage, reduce waste, and unlock value.

WHAT WILL BE YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES?

  • Define and lead OptiCloud's data science strategy, aligning models and methods with business and environmental impact goals.
  • Design, develop, and deploy machine learning algorithms to identify redundant, obsolete, or unnecessary data across corporate and personal cloud ecosystems (including emails, photos, videos, and files).
  • Build scalable pipelines to process and analyze structured and unstructured data from diverse sources in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate models into the OptiCloud platform, delivering actionable insights to customers.
  • Evaluate and experiment with cutting-edge approaches (including NLP, computer vision, anomaly detection) for digital waste detection across different data types.
  • Manage and mentor data scientists and machine learning engineers, balancing hands-on model development with leadership responsibilities.
  • Communicate findings and strategies clearly to executive leadership, customers, and external stakeholders, translating complex data science concepts into business value.
  • Monitor and continuously improve model performance to ensure accuracy, fairness, and ethical AI practices.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

PhD or Masters in Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, or a related field.

5+ years of experience leading data science projects and implementing data-driven strategies at enterprise level.

Proven track record of hands-on development of machine learning solutions deployed in production environments.

Strong expertise in supervised and unsupervised learning, NLP, anomaly detection, clustering, and data deduplication techniques.

Experience working with large-scale cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and relevant tools (e.g., Azure ML Studio, Azure Cloud, Spark, Databricks, TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).

Ability to bridge technical and non-technical teams, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Passion for sustainability, climate tech, and leveraging AI for positive environmental and societal impact.
