Rate: ₱12,000 – ₱15,000 per month (depending on fit and experience)


About the Business

We are an independent, cash-only gasoline station located in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental.

The owner is based abroad, with an on-site manager handling daily operations.

We are looking for an independent, experienced accounting professional who can ensure strong controls, clean records, and BIR compliance, and who is comfortable working mostly remotely while coordinating with on-site operations when required.


Role Overview This is a control, reconciliation, and compliance role, not pure data entry. This role functions independently from daily operations to provide objective control and reporting.

You will:

  • Report directly to the business owner.
  • Coordinate with the on-site manager for documents and clarifications.
  • Maintain independence in reporting, reconciliation, and variance escalation.

Occasional on-site visits may be required for:

  • Initial setup / onboarding
  • Process reviews
  • Audit preparation
  • Issue resolution

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain books of accounts for a VAT-registered, cash-only business
  • Prepare and file monthly BIR returns, including but not limited to:

  • 2550M (VAT)

  • SLSP
  • Withholding taxes (1601C / 0619E / 1601E, as applicable)
  • Maintain fuel inventory reconciliation / FIFO
  • Reconcile:

  • Daily Sales Reports (DSR)

  • Pump meter readings
  • Fuel delivery receipts and supplier invoices
  • Tank dipstick readings
  • Prepare inventory and cash variance reports
  • Escalate discrepancies directly to the owner (no adjustments without documentation)
  • Coordinate with the external CPA for annual financial statements and audits
  • Assist in BIR audit preparation if required

Work Setup
  • Mostly remote (documents shared digitally)
  • Occasional on-site presence will be required in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental, therefore applicants should be based in or near Cagayan de Oro / Misamis Oriental.
  • Flexible schedule, output-based (no daily time tracking)

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 1-2 years experience as Accounting Staff / Bookkeeper
  • Hands-on experience with:

  • VAT-registered businesses

  • BIR filings and deadlines
  • Cash-heavy operations
  • Inventory reconciliation (liters or units, not just peso sales)
  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Management Accounting, Accounting Technology, or a related business field
  • Comfortable working independently and reporting to an overseas owner
  • Proficient in Excel / Google Sheets for reconciliation and reporting

Strong Advantage
  • Experience with gas stations, petroleum retail, or inventory-heavy businesses
  • Prior exposure to BIR audits / LOA
  • Experience working in hybrid or remote setups
  • Experience using accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, Xero, Wave, SAP, or similar)

Not a Fit If
  • Your experience is limited to pure encoding
  • You rely entirely on a CPA to handle filings
  • You are uncomfortable questioning operational data
  • You expect to report only to on-site management
  • You are not willing to escalate discrepancies to the owner
