Mining Affairs Officer

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Possess strong familiarity with mining applications and compliance requirements in the Philippines, particularly the processes for Exploration Permits (EP), DMPF, and MPSA, ensuring all company activities strictly comply with regulatory agencies such as MGB, DENR, NCIP, and LGUs.
  • Demonstrate solid professional knowledge in the mining industry, and oversee, review, and improve the compliance processes across various departments, including daily operations, reporting, document submissions, and mine-site execution.
  • Proactively identify, analyze, and assess potential risks related to mining regulations and compliance, and recommend solutions and mitigation strategies to ensure the company's fully compliant operations.
  • Possess strong mining and geology expertise, and be able to prepare mining research reports, project analysis reports, policy interpretation reports, and other documents that support management in decision-making.
  • Prepare and complete all required documents for EP, DMPF, and MPSA applications, including quarterly and annual reports, and ensure the accuracy of all associated maps, plans, and supporting technical materials required by the government.
  • Maintain effective communication and coordination with the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) and other regulatory agencies, representing the company in handling applications, inquiries, clarifications, and necessary follow-ups.
  • Monitor industry developments and stay updated on the latest mining policies, regulations, and trends in the Philippines, providing timely policy insights and recommendations to the company.
  • Provide technical support and advice that meet the standards expected from a professional geologist.
  • Demonstrate strong communication, organizational, coordination, and execution skills, with the ability to proactively take ownership of tasks and ensure successful completion.
  • Exhibit high levels of responsibility, initiative, and independence, and be capable of completing various tasks assigned by management.

Under the guidance of senior management/stakeholders, responsible for coordinating exploration-related work for all mining rights nationwide in the Philippines, particularly existing Exploration Permits (EPs) and EP applications.

Provide high-standard technical advice and skills required of a professional geologist. Provide guidance, training, and supervision to junior geologists and staff.

Hold the necessary geologist license (e.g., PRC Licensed Geologist) and be able to sign relevant documents as required by management.
