The scope of the position includes managing the procurement activities for imported and local raw and packaging materials of the clients. This encompasses sourcing and selecting suppliers, canvassing, ordering, purchasing, monitoring the arrival of materials, and evaluating supplier performance. The role ensures that the procurement function is carried out efficiently and effectively, maintaining a seamless flow of materials and services required by the clients.

In terms of operations, the role involves receiving approved purchase requisitions from various departments for materials, equipment parts, accessories, supplies, and services. The individual canvasses and secures bid price quotations, negotiates for lower prices from accredited suppliers, and selects the suppliers who offer the best price and value. They generate and review purchase orders before submission to authorized signatories, release purchase orders to suppliers, monitor indent purchase orders, follow up on the delivery of materials, and handle confidential and sensitive data. Additionally, they manage the filing of purchasing documents and coordinate work with end users and assist visitors.

Regarding supplier management, the responsibilities include communicating expectations to suppliers, negotiating prices, deliveries, lead time, and payment terms to ensure smooth transactions. The individual also develops alternate sourcing strategies to ensure a reliable supply chain. By managing these aspects, the role ensures that the procurement process is efficient and meets the company's needs while maintaining good supplier relationships.
