JOB DESCRIPTION:

YOUR ROLE AS A:

Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing the company's financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective internal controls. This role plays a critical part in strategic planning, budgeting, and driving financial performance while providing leadership to the finance team.

WHAT YOU'LL CHAMPION:

Financial Stewardship

  • Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting in line with Philippine regulatory requirements and AirAsia group standards (IFRS).
  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and treasury activities to keep our airline financially fit.
  • Manage external audits, taxation, and statutory filings in compliance with local regulations.
  • Working closely with the Treasury team to reconcile vendors' SOA and timely recording of the payables.
  • Working closely with the Tax team to ensure the related taxes are recorded in a timely manner for monthly/quarterly/yearly reporting and filing.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Working closely with FP&A team to provide financial performance insights against budget, highlighting risks and opportunities.
  • Provide information to the FP & A team in order for the team to report rolling forecasts.

Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls that safeguard company assets and promote transparency.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, aviation industry standards, and government regulations.
  • Strengthen governance by improving processes and adopting best practices in cost control.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead, coach, and inspire the finance and accounting team ("Allstars") to deliver operational excellence.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams—commercial, operations, and corporate—to support strategic initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with local stakeholders, regulators, and the wider AirAsia group.

Strategic & Operational Impact

  • Provide scenario analysis, financial modeling, and decision support for new routes, partnerships, and investments.
  • Champion cost efficiency and digital transformation in finance processes.
  • Support the long-term vision of AirAsia Philippines to remain the country's leading low-cost carrier.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/ACCA preferred).
  • Proven track record as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or similar leadership role, preferably in aviation, transport, or multinational industries.
  • Strong knowledge of Philippine taxation, financial reporting standards (IFRS), and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel/financial modeling skills.
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • A hands-on, agile mindset—you thrive in a fast-moving, ever-evolving environment.
