JOB SUMMARY

The Boiler/Dryer Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the boilers and dryers used in the feed mill to ensure the proper drying and heat processing of feed ingredients, while maintaining safety, efficiency, and product quality at EDL Farms and Feed Manufacturing, Inc (EFFMI).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Ensure the continuous operation of the boiler and dryer systems by monitoring and adjusting controls for temperature, pressure, and flow rates to meet production needs.

· Maintain product quality by controlling drying processes and ensuring the appropriate moisture content in feed ingredients.

· Prevent system downtime by performing regular maintenance checks, identifying operational issues, and coordinating with the maintenance team for repairs.

· Enhance safety by adhering to all safety guidelines and protocols during boiler and dryer operation, including regular inspection for leaks or malfunctions.

· Support production efficiency by adjusting drying time and temperatures to optimize energy use and reduce costs.

· Ensure compliance with environmental regulations by monitoring emissions and waste generated from the drying process and ensuring proper disposal or treatment.

· Document operational data by recording boiler and dryer performance, output, and any maintenance activities in the production log.

· Assist in process improvements by suggesting modifications or upgrades to boiler and dryer systems based on performance feedback.

· Foster teamwork by collaborating with other operators, supervisors, and maintenance teams to maintain production flow and troubleshoot issues.

· Participate in training sessions by staying updated on new technologies and procedures related to boiler and dryer operations.

· Contribute to achieving departmental objectives by performing additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Educational Level:

High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training preferred

Degree / Course:

Vocational training or certification in mechanical operations or a related field preferred

Behavioral Competencies:

Attention to detail, problem-solving, ability to work in a team, and adherence to safety protocols

Technical Skills:

Knowledge of boiler and dryer operations, basic troubleshooting, and understanding of feed mill processes

Years of Related Experience:

At least 1-2 years of experience in operating boiler and dryer systems in an industrial or feed mill environment
