We are seeking a creative and technically skilled Web Designer/Developer to join a brand-focused digital team. This part-time role blends design and development to deliver high-performance, visually engaging, and strategically aligned websites. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and developing custom websites that enhance user experience, align with brand identity, and drive conversions. This is not a templated build role — we are looking for someone who can craft unique, tailored experiences.

Responsibilities:

Design & UX/UI

• Create intuitive and visually compelling website designs that reflect brand aesthetics and strategy
• Develop wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes to communicate design concepts
• Apply UX principles to deliver user-centric interfaces across all devices
• Design layouts and page structures with usability, accessibility, and engagement in mind

Web Development

• Build fast, responsive, and SEO-friendly websites using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Customise and manage WordPress sites, ensuring strong performance and minimal plugin dependency
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility and responsiveness across desktop, tablet, and mobile
• Implement on-page SEO and performance enhancements to optimise site visibility and speed

Brand Alignment

• Translate brand strategy into seamless digital experiences
• Ensure all visual and interactive elements are consistent with brand identity
• Collaborate with content, marketing, and creative teams to maintain design integrity across platforms

Collaboration & Project Execution

• Work closely with internal teams including content, marketing, and strategy to execute site builds
• Adapt to feedback and iterate quickly to meet deadlines
• Maintain version control and documentation of design and code changes

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Web Designer/Developer, ideally within a brand or creative agency
• Proven ability to deliver high-end, custom-built websites (not reliant on templates)
• Strong understanding of UX/UI best practices
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects

Software Proficiency:

• Design: Adobe Creative Suite, Figma (for wireframing and prototyping)
• Development: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, WordPress, responsive web frameworks
• SEO & Analytics: Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Search Console
• Other Tools: Experience with CMS platforms and browser dev tools

Desirable:

• Experience using AI-based design tools (e.g., UX Co-Pilot or similar)
• Knowledge of performance optimisation, Core Web Vitals, and conversion-focused design

Education:

Bachelor's degree or diploma in Web Design, Digital Media, UX/UI, or a related field (preferred)
