Webflow Developer II

Role Summary:

The Webflow Developer II is a specialized technical creative responsible for building highly customized, performant, and scalable websites and digital experiences primarily using the Webflow platform. This role requires translating complex design systems into functional, accessible, and responsive Webflow projects, leveraging advanced interactions, custom code integrations, and robust CMS structures. They are expected to work with a high degree of independence on complex projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and launch complex, pixel-perfect websites and landing pages entirely within the Webflow platform, adhering to modern best practices (e.g., Client-First or custom naming conventions).
• Implement sophisticated and custom interactions and animations using Webflow Interactions 2.0 and, where necessary, custom JavaScript (GSAP, Lottie) to enhance user engagement.
• Structure, configure, and manage dynamic content using the Webflow CMS (Collection Fields, References, Multi-Reference) for highly scalable content management.
• Integrate third-party services and custom functionalities (e.g., e-commerce, forms, API data) using custom HTML, CSS, and JavaScript within the Webflow environment.
• Ensure all developed Webflow projects are fully responsive, performant (optimizing images, page load times, minimizing DOM size), and meet WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards.
• Collaborate closely with UI/UX designers and marketing teams to maintain brand consistency and translate high-fidelity designs into technical reality.
• Maintain and update existing Webflow sites, managing backups, updates, and ensuring platform security and uptime.
• Participate in technical documentation of CMS structures, custom code snippets, and build processes for seamless handover and maintenance.

Qualifications:

• Webflow Platform Mastery: Strong professional experience (3+ years) specifically developing and launching sites using the Webflow platform. Expert proficiency in all core Webflow features, including the Designer, Interactions panel, CMS, logic flows, and e-commerce functionalities.
• Custom Code & Extensibility: Expert proficiency in vanilla HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript (ES6+) for extending Webflow's capabilities when native features are insufficient. Should be able to architect and implement modular custom scripts.
• Animation & Layout: Mastery of responsive design principles and creating flexible layouts within Webflow. Demonstrated experience implementing advanced, custom interactions, and scroll-triggered animations while focusing on browser performance optimization.
• CMS & Data Management: Solid understanding of structuring and scaling the Webflow CMS for complex content requirements and multisite implementations. Proficiency with RESTful API concepts for integration purposes.
• Performance & Accessibility: Solid understanding of web performance optimization techniques within the Webflow context (e.g., proper image formatting, asset loading, minimizing custom code impact). Strong familiarity with implementing WCAG standards directly in the Webflow interface.
• Design-to-Build Workflow: Proficient with Figma for translating high-fidelity design files into pixel-perfect Webflow builds.
