JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Azure Architect to lead the discovery and design phases of a next-generation, agentic-powered platform supporting infrastructure and DevOps governance. This role will be central to the AI transformation initiative for Nephos, working in partnership with a U.S.-based AI development firm responsible for the AI components of the product. The Senior Azure Architect will drive architectural direction, define the Azure backend, and provide strong technical leadership across cloud, DevOps, and platform engineering domains

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the architectural design and technical discovery for a new AI-powered infrastructure and DevOps governance platform.
  • Define and own the Azure backend architecture, ensuring scalability, security, and enterprise-grade performance.
  • Collaborate closely with the AI partner organization to integrate backend services with AI-driven platform components.
  • Provide expert-level technical leadership across cloud engineering, DevOps workflows, and infrastructure automation.
  • Architect solutions leveraging Azure services such as Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Functions, Azure App Services, Azure DevOps, Azure API Management, Azure Storage, and networking components.
  • Design and optimize CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code implementations, container orchestration, and automated deployment strategies.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices for cloud governance, security, monitoring, and cost optimization.
  • Produce high-quality architectural artifacts including diagrams, models, reference architectures, and technical documentation.
  • Guide engineering teams through technical decisions, design patterns, and platform standards.
  • Engage in cross-functional collaboration with product owners, developers, AI engineers, and leadership stakeholders.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years of experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure engineering, or platform engineering roles.
  • Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure architecture, including compute, networking, security, and platform services.
  • Strong leadership experience guiding cross-functional engineering teams through design and delivery.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing DevOps frameworks, including CI/CD pipelines, IaC, and automation.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, especially Kubernetes and AKS.
  • Strong understanding of API-driven architectures, microservices, and distributed systems.
  • Experience working in complex integration environments or with AI/ML systems (preferred but not required).
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, discovery-focused environment while shaping a new product architecture.
