JOB SUMMARY:

This plays a vital role in design, development, and maintaining data transformation processes, contributing to the organization's ability to derive insights. Your work will involve collaboration with various teams and stakeholders and continuous learning and growth in data engineering.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

1. Data Architecture and Design: Lead the development of robust, scalable data pipelines to ingest, process, and transform large volumes of data from diverse sources, ensuring data quality, consistency, and reliability.

2. Technology Selection and Evaluation: Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies, tools, and frameworks for data engineering projects, considering factors such as scalability, performance, and cost-effectiveness.

3. Data Transformation: Implement data transformation processes to cleanse, aggregate, and transform raw data into usable formats for analysis and reporting.

   • Develop ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to cleanse, transform, and enrich raw data into usable formats for analysis and reporting.

   • Performance tuning in SAP ABAP and SQL involves optimizing code and database queries to ensure that applications run efficiently and effectively.

   • Continually build on the proficiency in using the organization's Data Conversion Suite (DCS) as the primary tool to develop transformation processes.

   • Well equipped with Legacy System Migration Workbench (LSMW) tool in facilitating data migration from legacy system into SAP (SAP and non-SAP). Transferring data into SAP applications using various methods, such as batch input, direct input, and IDoc processing.

   • Efficiently handles ECC to S/4HANA using the Data Conversion Suite (DCS) within SAP's Migration Cockpit that is used to handle data conversion tasks by pre-defined conversion objects and mappings.

4. Data Modularization: Developing robust, modularized solutions in software engineering in SAP ABAP and SQL.

5. Project Management: Leading a project-role effectively with careful planning, execution, and monitoring based on project plan assigned.

6. Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, guiding them in best practices, design patterns, and coding standards for engineering projects

7. Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Document architectural designs, technical specifications, and best practices, and facilitate knowledge sharing sessions to empower team members and promote continuous learning.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

1. With atleast 5 years of SAP experience demonstrating both a technical understanding of SAP as a whole as well as hands-on development and problem-solving using ABAP. Knowledge of the SAP data dictionary structure is crucial. Knowledge of functional processing is also advantageous.

2. Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree such as Certifications and Trainings are not required but an advantage.

3. With 5 years or more relevant experience in data engineering and data management.

4. Expert in programming languages SAP ABAP and SQL for data manipulation and analysis. Additional knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala would be an advantage.

5. Experience with cloud platforms and services such as SAP Cloud Platform and SAP BTP.

6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data systems and optimize performance.

7. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
