Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Receivable (AR):

  • Prepare and issue invoices, official receipts, and billing statements to clients.
  • Monitor customer accounts to ensure timely collection of payments.
  • Record and reconcile collections, deposits, and outstanding receivables.
  • Follow up with clients on overdue accounts and coordinate with the Sales/Operations team regarding payment issues.
  • Maintain accurate AR ledgers and generate AR aging reports.
  • Process and track billing for logistics-related charges, such as demurrage (charges for exceeding allowed time at a port/terminal) and storage fees.

Accounts Payable (AP):

  • Process vendor invoices, check requests, and payment vouchers.
  • Verify supporting documents and ensure accuracy of billing information.
  • Schedule and prepare payments (checks, electronic transfers) in accordance with company policies.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate AP ledgers and generate AP aging reports.
  • Verify and process invoices from shipping lines, freight forwarders, and logistics providers, specifically checking charges for wharfage (charges for using a wharf/pier), demurrage, and storage.

General Accounting Support:

  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Support in the preparation of financial reports and schedules for audits.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and proper filing of accounting records.
  • Perform other related tasks as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Knowledgeable in shipping lines and logistics background is a strong advantage.
  • Familiarity with standard logistics documentation and billing practices.
  • Understanding of demurrage, detention, storage, and wharfage charges and how they impact AR/AP.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft and Google Applications.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with accounting software (specify if required) is a plus.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Php20, Php23,000.00 per month
