Role: SAP FICO Consultant – BIR eOPT Implementation

Job Description:

Responsible for designing, configuring, testing, and supporting SAP FICO processes to meet the
Philippine Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) eOPT
requirements. This includes ensuring proper mapping of tax-relevant transactions, integration with the e-invoicing system, and compliance with local statutory and reporting mandates.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Requirement Gathering & Analysis

  • Work with Finance, Tax, and IT teams to gather and analyze
    BIR eOPT
    compliance requirements.
  • Review existing
    FI-GL, FI-AR, FI-AP
    processes and identify gaps for eOPT compliance.
  • Ensure alignment with
    Philippine Taxation laws, E-VAT, EWT, and BIR submission formats
    .

2. SAP Configuration

  • Configure SAP
    FICO
    modules for:
  • VAT and EWT tax codes (output/input VAT mapping).
  • AR/SD integration for invoice posting and tax calculation.
  • AP/MM integration for vendor invoice processing.
  • Set up
    document types, posting keys, and account determination
    for eOPT transactions.
  • Maintain tax reporting tables (e.g.,
    RFUMSV00, VAT returns, withholding tax reports
    ).

3. eOPT Integration

  • Work with ABAP and middleware (e.g., CPI) teams to:
  • Map SAP invoice data to
    BIR eOPT XML/JSON format
    .
  • Ensure correct transmission of sales, purchase, and bookkeeping data to BIR's eOPT portal.
  • Implement error handling, logging, and reconciliation reports.

4. Testing & Validation

  • Develop test scripts for
    Unit Testing, Integration Testing, and UAT
    with business users.
  • Validate output files (XML/JSON) against
    BIR technical specifications
    .
  • Ensure successful test submission to
    BIR eOPT sandbox
    and go-live readiness.

5. Compliance & Reporting

  • Configure statutory reports for:
  • VAT Relief
  • Summary List of Sales/Purchases (SLS/Summary List of Importations)
  • Expanded Withholding Tax (EWT) returns
  • Implement audit trail capabilities to meet BIR retention requirements.

6. Support & Documentation

  • Provide go-live hypercare and post-implementation support.
  • Maintain functional specifications, configuration documentation, and BIR submission process manuals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or IT-related field.
  • 3+ years
    experience as an SAP FICO Consultant (FI-GL, FI-AR, FI-AP, Tax).
  • Hands-on experience with
    Philippine Taxation
    configuration in SAP (VAT, EWT, Final Taxes).
  • Knowledge of
    BIR eOPT
    requirements, XML mapping, and integration workflows.
  • Familiarity with
    SAP SD/MM integration
    for tax-related postings.
  • Experience in SAP ECC or S/4HANA; exposure to
    SAP CPI/PI
    preferred.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong understanding of
    local statutory reporting
    in the Philippines.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams (Finance, Tax, IT, Vendors).
  • Good documentation and communication skills for end-user training.
