Our Energy and Resources Division works with major exploration and distribution clients to deliver specialist mining, oil and gas projects across the country. These include upstream flowlines, leases, network gathering and distribution systems, major gas transmission pipelines, oil and gas above ground processing facilities, as well as integrity, maintenance and construction related work programs.

About You:

We are looking for an experienced Project Controller/Scheduler with Primavera P6 administration-level expertise and strong capability in Microsoft Project to join our agile, fast-paced team.

This role is critical in mentoring and upskilling our current project controllers, embedding best practices for managing engineering service projects that are resource-loaded and tracked at the individual level across the portfolio. You will play an integral role in our project management team, responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules to ensure successful and timely project delivery.

The role will be based in the Philippines, working for an Australian company. The successful candidate will be hired by our partner agency in the Philippines.

Skills/experience required for the role:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera, Microsoft Excel, and Visual Basic (VBA) to handle complex scheduling and data analysis tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project for managing project timelines and ensuring integration with overall project management strategies.
  • Power BI experience for building data-driven reports and visualizations that provide insights into project performance (desirable).
  • A solid understanding of project control principles, including scope, cost, and quality management, as well as Earned Value Management (EVM) for project performance tracking.
  • Strong mentoring and leadership skills, with the ability to bring others up to speed on best-practice controls.
  • Proven background in project controls for engineering, resources, or infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify issues early and recommend effective solutions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels of the project.
  • Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments, managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines.

About the Role:

  • Lead the development and management of integrated project schedules in collaboration with project managers.
  • Administer Primavera P6 for scheduling, reporting, and portfolio management
  • Implement and maintain effective scheduling systems to support project execution.
  • Identify and mitigate scheduling risks to ensure timely delivery of milestones.
  • Communicate project timelines and updates to stakeholders with clarity and confidence.
  • Adapt schedules to reflect changes in scope, resources, or priorities.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of scheduling processes and records.
  • Ensure alignment between schedules and resource usage profiles.
  • Build and optimise resource-loaded schedules using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
  • Mentor project controllers, promoting best-practice project controls methodologies.
  • Track and report resource utilisation across the portfolio at an individual level.
  • Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to align schedules with strategic priorities.
  • Produce performance, progress, and utilisation reports using Power BI and advanced Excel.
  • Support continuous improvement in planning and controls processes.
