Job Summary

The Payroll Auditor is responsible for reviewing, verifying, and analyzing payroll processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to company policies and government regulations. This role helps safeguard the integrity of payroll data, identifies discrepancies, prevents errors, and ensures all employees are paid accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Review & Verification

  • Audit payroll reports to ensure accurate computation of wages, deductions, overtime, benefits, and incentives.
  • Review timekeeping records, attendance logs, and shift reports for completeness and accuracy.
  • Verify that payroll entries comply with company policies and legal requirements.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure payroll processes comply with DOLE regulations, tax laws, government contributions (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG), and internal controls for regular employees.
  • Prepare audit reports highlighting discrepancies, findings, and recommendations.
  • Coordinate with HR to resolve payroll-related compliance issues.

Investigation & Issue Resolution

  • Investigate payroll discrepancies, employee complaints, or unusual patterns in payroll data.
  • Work closely with HR, supervisors, and managers to correct errors and ensure proper documentation.
  • Recommend improvements to payroll systems to reduce recurring issues.

Process Improvement

  • Propose updates to payroll procedures to increase accuracy and efficiency.
  • Assist in developing internal payroll controls and audit checklists.
  • Support process reviews during audits by internal or external auditors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, HR, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years experience in payroll processing or payroll auditing.
  • Strong knowledge of local labor laws, payroll regulations, and statutory benefits.
  • Proficient in payroll software, HRIS, and MS Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
