ACCOUNTANT (CPA)

TYPE: FULL TIME; INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly competent Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with strong knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP). The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting management with reliable financial analysis and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in compliance with US GAAP.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including journal entries and accruals.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations; assist with tax filings and audits.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
  • Monitor and improve accounting controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform variance analysis and provide financial insights to management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to stakeholders.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license (required).
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong, hands-on knowledge of US GAAP and U.S. accounting regulations.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a U.S.-based or multinational environment.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Oracle, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with month-end close, audits, and financial reporting.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with U.S. clients or U.S.-based companies.
  • Prior public accounting or audit firm experience.
  • Familiarity with U.S. tax compliance and reporting requirements.

  • Internet Connection: Minimum of 30 Mbps wired internet connection, plus a backup internet connection.

  • Computer/Laptop: Personal computer with updated software and dual monitors.

  • Headset: Noise-canceling headset (Plantronics or Jabra preferred).

  • Home Office: Dedicated, quiet workspace free from distractions.

  • Monitoring Software: Willingness to use monitoring software for payroll and timekeeping purposes only.

Webcam: Working webcam for meetings and collaboration.

Job Type: Full-time
