General Duties:

  • Reports directly to the QA/QC Supervisor, the QA Specialist is responsible for the food safety and quality of products.
  • Responsible in following set processes and ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Safety, Safe Quality Food (SQF) and Product Quality Standards.

Job Responsibilities

  • Monitors and programs Critical Control Points (CCPs).
  • Monitors product food safety and quality throughout manufacturing process.
  • Performs sanitation verification of the plant, equipment and other areas required.
  • Records and files all relevant QC monitoring documents.
  • Ensures correct ingredients/product recipes are used during processing.
  • Ensures all employees are following Good Manufacturing Practices as well as Food Safety and Worker Safety practices.
  • Performs inspection on products and equipment.
  • Evaluates non conforming in process materials and finished products and provide disposition based on quality and overall food safety.
  • Provides disposition on aging products, ingredients and packaging materials based on inspection and testing.
  • Ensures and educates employees on Food Safety and Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards.
  • Collects retention samples for testing and analysis.
  • Calibrates all Inspection Measuring Test Equipment (IMTEs) such as thermometer, weighing scale, refractometer and similar equipment used for day to day activities.
