Role Description

We are seeking a Junior Technical Consultant with foundational experience in network and system deployment. In this role, you will work closely with customers to support the design, documentation and delivery of network solutions implemented within the end client's own data centres. You will collaborate with Sales, Operations, Product Management and Engineering to ensure engagements are smoothly initiated and effectively delivered.

Working alongside Project Managers, you will help coordinate deployment activities for new installs and upgrades, gaining exposure to customer decision-making, technology considerations and project trade-offs that contribute to high-quality implementations of Itron's products and services.

This role is designed for early-career professionals who want to build strong technical and customer-facing skills. You will be supported by senior colleagues as you develop capabilities in solution deployment, requirements gathering, project coordination and customer engagement. You will have opportunities to develop technical depth in IT infrastructure, networking, databases and utility technologies.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a directly related field.
  • Foundational experience related to solution delivery, gained through internships, academic projects or early-career roles. Exposure to telecommunications networks (wired or wireless) or enterprise data centre environments is beneficial but not required.
  • Emerging leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the potential to apply these in real project settings.
  • Basic knowledge of Linux and Windows server environments, or a strong willingness to learn and build hands-on capability.
  • Familiarity with SQL and at least one relational database platform (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a growing confidence to interact with customers under the guidance of senior colleagues.
  • Ability to support task organisation and contribute to project delivery while developing good time-management skills.
  • Interest in requirements gathering, project planning and coordination.
  • Exposure to gas, water or electric utility systems, meter reading, or distribution automation technologies is beneficial but not essential.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, switching) is useful; experience with Cisco IOS/IOX or IPv6 is a plus.
  • Awareness of radio network equipment, wide-area network technologies, GIS, CIS or other utility systems is advantageous but not mandatory.
