Position Summary

The Boiler Operator (CME) will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the boiler system using Coco Methyl Ester as fuel. The role involves continuous monitoring of process parameters (temperature, pressure, and flow), water treatment, preventive maintenance, and ensuring compliance with all safety and operational standards.


Key Responsibilities

Boiler Operation

  • Safely and efficiently operate and monitor boiler systems to ensure reliable supply of steam or heat.
  • Manage combustion and fuel feed using Coco Methyl Ester (CME) to maintain optimal performance.

Process Monitoring

  • Maintain desired flow rates, pressures, and temperatures.
  • Observe boiler system behavior and adjust settings to achieve efficient fuel combustion and heat transfer.

Data & Logs

  • Record operational data such as fuel consumption, temperature, and system abnormalities.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs and report any issues to the Plant Supervisor.

Maintenance

  • Perform regular inspections, cleaning, and minor repairs to boiler equipment.
  • Assist maintenance teams during scheduled servicing and shutdowns.

Water Treatment

  • Prepare and treat boiler feed water using appropriate chemicals to prevent corrosion or scaling.
  • Conduct water testing and adjust chemical dosages as required.

Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with company safety protocols and government regulations.
  • Follow Filoil's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for boiler operations and safety.

Sampling & Testing

  • Perform product sampling as needed to verify CME fuel quality and boiler water standards.

Troubleshooting

  • Detect, diagnose, and resolve boiler system malfunctions in a timely manner.

Safety

  • Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to safety guidelines and reporting potential hazards immediately.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 1–2 years of related work experience as a Boiler Operator is preferred.
  • Education: High school diploma, GED, or completion of a vocational/technical course is required.
  • Certification: A valid Boiler Operator License or Certification may be necessary.
  • Skills: Knowledge of boiler systems, fuel handling (including CME), combustion, and basic maintenance is essential.
  • Technical Aptitude: Ability to read gauges, monitor systems, and use testing devices effectively.
  • Problem-Solving: Capable of identifying and resolving technical or operational issues.
  • Physical Stamina: Must have the endurance required for long hours of standing and hands-on work in an industrial setting.
