Job Title: CME Refinery Operator

Position Overview
The Coconut Methyl Ester (CME) Refinery Operator plays a critical role in the continuous, safe, and efficient operation of Filoil's CME refinery facilities. This position is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining refinery systems and equipment through PLC/SCADA systems, ensuring optimal process performance, compliance with environmental and safety standards, and consistent production of high-quality CME.
Key Responsibilities
A. Plant Operation & Monitoring
- Operate, monitor, and control CME refinery processes through PLC/SCADA systems, ensuring all parameters remain within defined specifications.
- Conduct field inspections to verify operational integrity of process equipment such as pumps, tanks, separators, and heat exchangers.
- Log process readings and report any deviations or abnormalities for corrective action.
B. Process Control & Optimization
- Regulate process variables including temperature, pressure, flow rates, and chemical dosing to meet production targets.
- Coordinate with control room and field operators to maintain seamless process continuity.
- Analyze process data and recommend adjustments to improve efficiency and product yield.
C. Equipment Maintenance & Reliability
- Perform routine preventive maintenance, including lubrication, cleaning, calibration, and minor repairs of refinery equipment.
- Support maintenance shutdowns and equipment overhauls by preparing systems for isolation and ensuring safe restart procedures.
- Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to enhance plant reliability and minimize downtime.
D. Quality Assurance
- Monitor and record product quality through sampling, testing, and laboratory coordination to ensure CME output meets established specifications (ASTM / PNS standards).
- Ensure strict adherence to operational procedures affecting product integrity and quality control.
E. Safety, Health & Environment
- Enforce strict compliance with Filoil's HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) policies, including lock-out/tag-out procedures, confined space entry, and PPE use.
- Participate actively in emergency response drills and incident investigations.
- Promote a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and environmental stewardship.
F. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and timely logs of process parameters, maintenance activities, and shift turnovers.
- Generate operational reports and submit recommendations for system optimization.
G. Housekeeping & Compliance
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of refinery areas to comply with 5S and ISO standards.
- Support internal and external audits by ensuring documentation and processes meet compliance requirements.
Qualifications and Competencies
Educational Background:
- At least Vocational, Technical, or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Technology, or Industrial Technology.
- TESDA NC II or NC III certification in Plant Operation, Instrumentation, or similar fields is an advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in refinery, chemical, biofuel, or petrochemical plant operations (preferably CME or biodiesel industry).
- Demonstrated experience in PLC/SCADA-based plant control systems.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in process instrumentation, control systems, and plant automation.
- Strong understanding of pumps, compressors, separators, heat exchangers, and distillation systems.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 management systems.
- Knowledge of safety standards (OSHA, DENR, DOLE) related to refinery operations.
- Basic knowledge in data logging, process troubleshooting, and emergency shutdown procedures.
