Key Responsibilities:

· Driving:

Safely operating a truck, navigating various routes, and adhering to traffic laws and company policies.

· Loading and Unloading:

Handling the physical loading and securement of cargo, sometimes using specialized equipment.

· Vehicle Maintenance:

Performing basic vehicle checks, reporting any mechanical issues, and ensuring the truck is in good working condition.

· Route Planning:

Utilizing GPS and other tools to plan efficient routes, considering factors like traffic, weather, and delivery deadlines.

· Documentation:

Completing necessary paperwork, including delivery logs, inspection reports, and other required documents.

· Communication:

Maintaining clear communication with dispatchers, customers, and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

· Valid Driver's License: A commercial driver's license (CDL) is typically required, with specific endorsements depending on the type of cargo or vehicle.

· Driving Experience: Prior experience operating large vehicles is often preferred.

· Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance and identify potential mechanical issues.

· Navigation Skills: Proficiency in using GPS and reading maps.

· Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other team members.
