Position Summary

The TLC Lead is an academic leadership role responsible for overseeing The Learning Curve (TLC) Program for students from Pre-Elementary to Grade 12 under the Touch Curated Program. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality special education services through effective program development, curriculum modification, team leadership, and strong family support. The TLC Lead supervises TLC Specialists, manages student cases (up to 40 students), and collaborates with cross-functional teams to uphold academic standards, compliance, and student success.

Key Responsibilities

1. Program Development & Implementation

  • Develop, implement, and refine the TLC Program to ensure alignment with institutional goals and best practices in special education.
  • Strengthen program foundations and structure for long-term sustainability.
  • Conduct pre-enrollment training and consultations.
  • Conduct parent workshops as necessary.

2. Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure compliance with special education policies, regulations, and institutional standards.
  • Oversee preparation and accuracy of student documentation, SOPs, and program materials.
  • Stay updated on legal and regulatory requirements relevant to special education.

3. Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead and support TLC Specialists, teachers, advisors, and related services personnel.
  • Coordinate with Program Managers and Team Leads to foster inclusive learning environments.
  • Conduct learning sessions and training to prepare HG teams for immersion and inclusion of learners with special needs.
  • Collaborate closely with the TLC Consultant for program decisions, updates, and student progress.

4. Student Assessment & Evaluation

  • Oversee assessment and evaluation processes for new students, transferees, and continuing learners.
  • Conduct appraisals to determine developmental needs and guide instructional planning.
  • Analyze assessment data to monitor progress and inform program adjustments.

5. Academic Support & Intervention

  • Design individualized learning plans, curriculum accommodations, and modifications based on student developmental needs and long-term goals.
  • Monitor student progress in natural settings and adjust approaches as needed.
  • Recommend additional support systems or related services to enhance student outcomes.

6. Family & Stakeholder Communication

  • Maintain timely and clear communication with parents regarding student progress and interventions.
  • Facilitate goal-oriented workshops for parents, students, and groups.
  • Provide updates to the TLC Consultant and relevant teams on student-specific and general program matters.

7. Professional Development

  • Provide continuous training and capacity building for TLC Specialists and team members.
  • Keep the team informed of current research, methodologies, and best practices in special education.

8. Advocacy

  • Advocate for the needs of learners with disabilities within the institution and wider community.
  • Stay informed on trends, policies, and emerging issues in the field of special education.
